Visit to the Courtauld

Today was our first day back at Uni and our visit to the Courtauld Gallery in London. It was also our first meeting with the second year film students which at first was an obvious divide but we soon blended in! It was really nice to see some of the paintings we could potentially be working with and get an idea of the types of costumes we might have to source.

A Bar at the Folies-Bergère, 1881-2 by Edouard Manet

This was one of my favourite paintings in the Gallery. I was imaging potential stories myself
and I think this would make a really interesting story whatever direction it was taken in.
It was also really nice to see Mondrian in real life! I must have look at his work a hundred timesonline and in books but to see it was great, i was surprised with how small some of them were!
I'm not sure if anyone will choose any of his work unless they decided to do an abstract piece.
